Katie's having a friend over for a while. Hope they don't think they'll monopolise the computer.

Mind if I ask how long this series has been on in Australia? Here in the US, we've only had about 3 episodes so far. And it's already BBC America's biggest hit series ever. Speaking of which, am I the only American here?

Nope you're not the only American member, there are a few others here but they haven't posted for a while. Torchwood has finished screening in Australia now, but it was treated pretty poorly by the station it was shown on - started off on a Monday at 9:30pm then was moved, without warning, to Tuesday midnight (technically Wednesday I spose). I'm not looking forward to the way they treat series 2.

Thanks Claire. Since it's the station's biggest hit, hopefully they won't play with it here. It's on at 9pm with the previous episode repeating at 8pm. But unfortunately, what that did was to bump Doctor Who back to 7pm. Since I only have one premium cable box with the rest of the hook-ups showing only basic channels, and my son loving a cartoon station on a channel he can't get in his own room, I have to wait until 1am for the Doctor to repeat.

Aah that's annoying, but at least you can still watch it. It's cool how you get all those repeats. Well we do on our cable here but they're not showing many decent programmes at the moment, heh Well none that I want to watch anyway

It is nice to have the option of repeats. BBC America seems to show whatever's on from 7pm-11pm over again from 11pm to 3am. What's strange is that they don't go in order for the night, at least on saturdays. Seems to me that it would stand to reason that with a schedule like that, Doctor Who would come on again at 11pm since it started the evening at 7pm. But no. At 11pm, Torchwood repeats. Both of them. Then I'm not even sure that Doctor Who comes on at 1am before Graham Norton's repeat or after it. I think it is before but I have to check every week to make sure. And that's on top of having to remember that it's saturday and the shows are on. I can't remember what I've done from day to day. So you can imagine that it can be a bit difficult. Luckily, with my cable box, I can check the listings for up to a week ahead and set reminders for anything listed and a message will flash on the screen 1 minute before and again when the show starts. I get good use out of that option, believe me. But you have to be in the room or else you miss it. That has happened before. Unfortunately, since I watch the 1am one, it's technically sunday and I can't set the reminder until monday. It's on again on sundays around Noon. That's the same problem over the early Doctor Who airing. Even if I felt mean enough to take the remote from my son and turn his cartoons, he would make sure that I couldn't pay attention to whatever I want to see. . Trust me, I know from experience.

LOL Aaw annoyingness - but hey, repeats that often, jeez... that'd be brilliant. I wish our TV stations could be set up in some sort of similar way.
The state of television is going further down the gurgler lately, especially on the free-to-air stations here - all these stupid quiz/game show things, and reality shows, yeesh! Enough already!

It IS nice, but that's usually just on certain cable channels. Our networks still show garbage. BUT, repeating it that much only works if you can remember. I frequently forget to do so. But, I figure that if I can't remember 1 show out of 3, then I deserve to miss it.

I don't have cable at all, so I am at the mercy of the public station whims.

I feel so very sorry for you Psijunkie Foxtel is going downhill unfortunately, I hardly watch it anymore - but then I wouldn't get my Stephen Colbert fix without the Comedy Channel so "I no complain" I always write notes for myself when these things are on, just so I won't forget. I'm usually always by my computer so I leave the notes near that so I'll be more likely to see them. You need an icon BTW, it's weird seeing blankness under your name
