That's a great avitar Claire. I think I'm going to have a change in mine. I'm bored. Donna, it's amazing that I've spent alot of time working with computers and yet, know so little about what you can do with them for recreation. Claire and Stephen have taught me a lot, and I'm sure I still have years of learning to go.

Hehe yeah, a change in avatar can be good I've had the same banner for ages, LOL! I just like it so much though.

Annette, I'm lucky that I know how to do the few things that I do know. I was given a compuuter and just turned it on and started to learn it by myself. I just hate letting a machine beat me.
Claire, considering everything that's going on recently, I would have had a sense of humor over the other avatar. What the hell. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. LOL So if you should get the urge, go for it.
I'm a bit ticked right now. My son went to sleep early Saturday night so I turned on BBC to get ready for the evening. I figured that I'd watch the rest of the Torchwood repeat and then the new one. Of course I fell asleep before the new one came on. Woke up just in time to catch the 2am Doctor Who. Now I have to look for the Torchwood repeats or wait until next week and watch the repeat before the new one.

Aaw how annoying... Maybe you should set a tape for it? LOL be careful what you joke about here - you may very well end up with the other Capt. Jack in your avi

Claire, like I said, go for it. Since I found out that my mother picked out a POTC Capt. Jack Halloween costume for my son, it seems like a battle I might as well give up fighting. I've already spent all summer long looking at the POTC sandals that she bought him months ago. Maybe I shouldn't let her shop by herself. You'd think that I would know myself well enough by now to stick a tape in while I'm watching someting, even if I don't feel sleepy. Luckily, Torchwood is repeating late Tuesday night at 2am so I won't have to wait until next weekend to see it. Of course, that is so long as I remember to stick a tape in before I fall asleep tomorrow night. Good luck to me.

;D Looking for good pics now, hehehe.
LOL You could write reminder notes for yourself and stick them everywhere, that's what I usually do.

Thanks Claire. As for sticking reminder notes around, my son would go right behind me removing them and saying "Mommy, you left these. I picked them all up. See how I helped"? I just have to hope that by 2am, I am sitting in front of the tv to see the reminder. Or else, there always is next weekend.

Aaah such frustrations Could you not explain to him that they need to be left alone? Or put them up higher out of his reach? Or put something near your computer, that always helps me, hehe. Or set the screensaver to that "scrolling marquee" one and type in "tape Dr Who at 2am" or whatever

LOL I made a few icons because I couldn't decide which one looked the best, so you may choose from the list #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 Finding pics that worked well together was a lot harder than I thought. I found heaps of good Johnny Depp pics to use but John Barrowman was strangely more difficult - in the end instead of using Capt Jack I just used John as himself - but it still works I think #6 is probably the one I'm most happiest with, although #2 does make for a pretty cool looking "action shot".

My son has unfortunately gotten a double dose of being contrary from both his father and myself. The more I ask him not to do or touch something, the more he does it, all the while looking me in the eye and laughing. And if I leave the laptop open, I am just asking for trouble. And since I don't manage to get on every night, I just might well miss the reminder. Not to mention the fact that I do not want to switch the desktop pic. I am kind of partial to the POTC one that's there now. I agree with you about picture #6. That is the nicest one. Capt. Jack just doesn't look right smiling. He's much sexier with a serious look on his face. Since I have given up the fight, if it's easier for you to just find one of just the POTC Capt. instead of trying to fit 2 pics in that small box, just go ahead and use one of those. If you find that easier, don't wait for my approval, just go ahead and put it in there. As I said, I have decided to surrender as much as I hate the thought.

You could always write it on your hand or your arm, LOL! Yeah... No no, I think I'll still stick in one of the Capt Jack x 2 pics, I quite like them myself, hehe! I like the concept anyway. "I'm Captain Jack!" "No I'm Captain Jack!" *glare*

Never thought of it in those terms Claire. That's too funny. But, unfortunately I think Depp would win. POTC has been around longer than Torchwood, hasn't it? As for writing a note on myself, I think it would wash off before the week was over. But I did just watch Torchwood. I thought I only had the reminder set for 2am but saw it come up at 8pm while I was on the phone with my mother. Good thing I had already told my son his bedtime was 8pm. After the reminder popped up, I told him to get to the bathroom so he could put on his pj'sand go to bed. Which amazingly enough he did. I then checked out the POTC Capt. Jack costume. Disney is one of the cheapest companies going. The only things included in the costume set were the shirt, vest, 2 belts and boot covers. The hat and wig were sold separatey as were the beard and goatee. My nother just got the hat and wig. And she got a small (size 4-6) so now I have to worry if it wil fit him properly. I will have to do a search to see if there's a party city around here to complete the set. She claims she also bought an eye patch because my niese told her to. I tried to explain that Capt. Jack doesnt wear one. I don't know what happened to it because it isnt in the bag. Idount he woulf wouldn't like it anyway. Off to search and then try and get some sleep. Lord knows I could use it. Thanks again Claire. It is a nice pic.

Ooh how annoying... I hope you can find something to go with the rest of the outfit! LOL I don't know about Jack Sparrow winning - Jack Harkness "can't die" so he'd just keep coming back again which would confuse Sparrow somewhat But now, they shouldn't be fighting against each other, they should be fighting alongside each other - that'd be quite funny to see There's bound to be fan-fic of this out in NetLand actually, I might have to do a bit of a search for it Good night to you! I'm off to work shortly, blah
