Hi Claire, Luckily I went online and found a branch of the chain store my mother bought it in.so I was able to get him a size 6/8 which should fit better. Plus I gave back the eye patch. My mother found it at her place. I'm thinking of putting on a dark pair of sweatpants or jeans on my son. With Halloween being October 31st, it probably will be cool so I'm thinking of something warm. Hopefully between the vest, sash, belts and boot covers, there won't be much of the pants showing since it's usually getting dark when we go trick or treating. But it will show up in the daytime when his school has their parade outside. I'm certainly not going looking for a pair of leather pants for him or something else dark that might pass. Disney just sucks. You'd think that for $30 bucks, they could throw in a pair of pants, considering the little bit of material that would be needed. It was bad enough that the hat with the hair connected to it cost half as much as the costume. Luckily the beaded goatee was only $&. Plus $2 for the earring. Now I just have to watch the series again to remember which ear he wears it in. The things we do for our kids. ;D I meant Capt. Jack Sparrow might well win a popularity contest since he's better known. He understands not being able to die. It would be hysterical to see his reaction to the other Capt. Jack coming back to life. But POTC Jack does know how to run away to fight another day if he's in trouble although he will fight if he has to. He thought it was cool when he stole the coin and couldn't die during his fight with Barbosa in POTC3. And he would just love to be immortal. He wanted to kill Davy Jones so he could sail the seas forever but was selfless after Jones mortally wounded Will and he held Will's hand so Will could stab the heart and become Captain of the Flying Dutchman instead. And I am mortified to admit that I know this much. It would be cool to see both Capt. Jack's together. They'd make a hell of a pair. But a girl might go cross eyed trying to decide which one to watch. BTW. Thanks for telling on me in Jess' group. I do hope it gave her a smile though.

LOL! Yeah Disney is eeevil and money grabbing these days. Just look at all those stupid movies they churn out each year that go straight to DVD And sequels upon sequels, eeesh. Haha well as far as popularity, then yeah, Sparrow would most likely win But I'm sure there would be some John Barrowman fans giving him a run for his money LOL I still haven't even seen the 2nd and 3rd PotC movies, aiee... I have the 2nd on DVD though, I bought it when there was a sale. I wouldn't mind trying Yeah, me too

Hi Claire, I don't know about the popularity in the US. Remember Torchwood has been on for only 4 weeks here even though it is BBC's biggest hit ever. There's a Johnny Depp base that's been around for years and now with the POTC series, he's grabbed the kids as well. I wouldn't mind trying to watch the 2 of them together either. Sorry if I ruined the storyline for the POTC series for you. Too bad you don't have a finger up here in the smilies that we could give Disney. Considering how much they made on the POTC series, you'd think they could spend a little of it back on the kids so they could have a decent costume without having to buy all the accessories and spend a fortune.

LOL true - I meant other fans though in the UK and Australia too And anywhere else for that matter Plus John would have fans from his other work. But Johnny Depp would definitely be more well known. LOL don't worry about storyline spoilers or whatnot, I'm not that bothered really LOL I could probably find a smiley of that somewhere, there seem to be some for every occasion Well there's this one: Meh I like this one better:

Thanks Claire. They're both great. Wonder if I could get away with sending one to Michael Eisner. Actually, while I grew up with this one and am a bit partial to it, and unfortunately taught it to my five year old when someone in a car beind me expected me to stick the nose of my car out into a very busy street at a red light so she could make a right turn and kept blowing her horn at me. So now my son does it. He's already flipped off my nephew who laughed hysterically and then my son told me one night that he did it to my girlfriend when he was out with her. I had to call her and apologize. But since the idiot blowing her horn was behind me and he was in the back seat, he does it backwards since that's what he saw. So he does it palm out. Of course he couldn't wait to get home that night to show daddy what I had done in the car. Unfortunately, I had also done it to my friend unknowingly one day. I was crossing the street in front of my house and she was coming home. I am so used to idiots blowing their horns instead of slowing down that I don't even look up when I hear a horn. Just walk a little slower and flip them off. She was hysterical when she got out of her car and thought it was the funniest thing that I didn't break stride or even look up, just threw up the finger. I was mortified. Bot, what can you expect from a New Yorker? While I am partial to our one finger salute, I love the way the British do it. For some reason, when they stick up the 2 firgers, it seems so much more vulgar. And hilarious. BTW Claire, I keep meaning to ask how you make those banners at the end of your posts? Not that I would understand if you explained it to me but I'm curious.

You seem to be in a funny mood today Annette. But I do have to protest and say that I won't be a senior citizen for another 8 years yet. I just feel like one most days.

;D I feel like a senior today due to lack of sleep Donna. Even so, yes, I was joking. When I get some sleep I'll be back to 4 years old again.

I use Adobe Photoshop to make my funky banners I suppose there's probably no point in trying to explain the process I've taught my mum a few things though but it's easier because I can physically show her what to do

It's OK Claire, just go ahead and call me too stupid to understand if you did explain. Unfortunately, it's the truth. I am really starting to get ticked at missing Torchwood. I knew Iwould fall asleep before it came on Saturdaynight so I started recording the channel before I fell asleep. I must have hit the remote with my arm because it stopped recording a few minutes after I went to sleep. I had a second chance on Sunday so I started the VCR before taking my son to a party. I came home to find everything off. The power must have flickered and everything goes off when that happens. The lights went out again at 6pm for a few minutes. I called the electric company to complain because if my box stays off for more than a couple of minutes with no power, it can act up. Then I would have to call cable to have them resend the signal and I would have to unplug it and play with it. It's a pain, especially trying to get through to cable on a sunday night. Even if it doesn't go out, it still takes a few minutes before it will work and I can get a channel. Then the electric company made me feel guilty by telling me that there was a fire in the area plus some wires down and they wouldn't have everything fixed until around 9pm. Then I called my mother who lives across the street and is on the same power line and although her cable went out for a little while twice, her lights never went out. Since the power company can lie and once had me on hold for a full hour and didn't answer until the power came back on, I felt like calling them back and cursing them out. I actually did have fun the day they kept me on hold for an hour. When the guy finally answered right after the power came back on, he asked how he could help me and I told him that he could help me by telling me why it took him an hour to answer the phone. That was a fun call. I busted his chops until I got tired of it and of course since the calls are monitored, he couldn't just hang up on me since I made sure that I didn't curse him, just word things so that he knew I was pissed. It was just too funny listening to him stutter because he couldn't answer anything I asked him. With the utilities, you take your fun where you can get it. My sister loves to listen to the conversations when one of them pisses me off enough to make me call them. I'm like a dog with a bone. Of course, they must call me every filthy word they can think of once they hang up but I've already had my fun. Anyway, now I have to wait until tuesday to see Torchwood and hope I can remember it.
