The Bill Oddie episode of Who Do You Think You Are? is on UKTV tomorrow night (Thursday 8th Sept) at 9.30pm.
There was a little review in the Age Green Guide and the program sounds quite sad and touching.

LOL! Cool ;D Foxtel has been going downhill since I first got it (in 1997, when it was actually ad-free, holy crappola ), but I still like having it. Free-to-air is just so bad!

Yeah, I could prob. dispense with pay TV altogether, and put the money towards DVDs instead, but my husband loves his AFL channel, and we both have a bit of a British soap addiction.

I just half- watched (as in I was on the computer at the same time) the Bill Oddie doco...whoa...very sad. I was on the verge of tears all the way through it. His mum was schizophrenic and in a psychiatric facility for most of poor Bill's life I'll watch it properly tomorrow. There's going to be a Vic Reeves one on at some stage too. Should be interesting. I've never seen Vic in his natural state before, only "on".

Ooh a Vic Reeves one?! I'll definitely have to try and watch that one then. And I'm watching the Bill Oddie one at the moment too. It is really sad...

I must see when it was made. For what it's worth, he looked absolutely rejuvenated at the Melbourne Goodies show - happier and healthier looking than in this doco. Poor Bill, suffering from depression! My heart goes out to him!

Yeah... I kinda understand it too... Although more than likely not on the same level...
Gawd he looked so much like my dad though! The grey hair, the beard... Freaky, heh...
