The... "sequel"... to The Rocky Horror Picture Show...
I saw it for the first time last night. It was... well... 'effed' up? LOL! I suppose I probably wasn't in the best frame of mind to watch it anyway, but...
The only thing that really "connects" it to Rocky Horror is the use of the original characters Brad and Janet, however, they are played by totally different people, which ruined it for me, really...
Personally I think this movie would have worked better by it's own merits, and shouldn't have been dubbed a "sequel". Sure, some of the original cast members were in it (Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell and Charles Gray), but really... they played different characters, the whole plot line was completely different... It didn't feel like a continuation, like most sequels do...
The Brad and Janet characters should have been renamed or something ...
That's just me though, really...
Also what I didn't particularly like about this movie were the sterile and enclosed sets - it felt like something set in the 50's but had that early 80's element as well...
And the singing
I know it was a musical but they broke into song almost every 5 minutes
After seeing this... Rocky Horror makes a hell of a lot more sense to me now, LOL!
Oh well... maybe if I saw it again in a better frame of mine it might grow on me... the title song "Shock Treatment" was kinda cool...
