It began as a comic strip, but was soon turned into an animated adventure I've loved the series for as long as I can remember, and my interest was renewed when the complete cartoon series was released on DVD, albeit a little out of order and cut ... I've even made a message board for it, but it's really dead tintinmb.proboards23.com

Ah Tintin. I have enjoyed this tv show/comic series for years now. I used to watch the original Belguim series when it was shown on SBS years and years ago. I never understood a word, but it was enjoyable. I read all the books right up until Eclippse/Nelvana made there version in the early 90s. That show was really good as it was the first to be dubbed into English. I also was lucky enough to view one of the many Belguim made real life Tintin movies. The one I saw had subtitles, and it was called "Tintin and the Golden Fleece" (I should have taped it) it was brilliant - right down to all the details, colours, costumes etc. The DVD of the 90s cartoon series is available, as well as a 1970s animated feature "Tintin and the Lake of Sharks" (sometimes known as Mystery at Shark Lake). The DVD set runs in the book order, not the transmitted order, and some very silly cuts are made. Tintin deserves to be made into a feature film, but for god sakes - GET IT RIGHT!
