Recently in Australia, new episodes of the Simpsons are being aired on TV every Tuesday night. But, this is my opinion, is it me? Or are the new episodes getting really, really bad? There not funny anymore, I get a laugh out of them every now and again but the episodes are so stupid, even for Homer. Homer doesn't even say D'oh! Anymore, or 'hmm....'. And whenever I watch a new episode, I can just tell that they are running out of ideas. Does anyone agree with this?

It's not just you... I feel the same way... Last night's episode was no exception, LOL... I mean it was humorous in some parts, but really... It was stupid...

I feel that way too about the newer episodes. My boyfriend summed it up well. He said it was better when it was about them as a family, and not when they go into stupid situations. That is so true!

yeah they're a bit crappy now. The simpsons is getting old now. its time to lay it to rest. they just get more ludicrous as they go along

Yeah ... The episode I just watched was pretty funny though, LOL! Bart gets addicted to junk food and gains weight, hehe! Groundskeeper Willie had the best line: "What are you lookin' at ya bastards?!"

At the moment they're playing some really old ones on terrestrial tv and I'm really enjoying them.
last night it was the one where Bart is sent to France and an Albanian spy is sent over in his place. Such good fun!

I don't mind the new ones, until I see a really fab old episode and realise how poo it is. I've got a feeling the film is going to be pants.

LOL yeah I have to wonder... I'm not sure if it's going to be any good. And it doesn't help that for me, thanks to Family Guy, I don't find The Simpsons as funny as I used to... <Vicky Pollard voice> Ooooh my god that episode is freaken ancient! I can't watch the really early seasons now, I find them a bit cringe worthy, LOL!

they are so ancient! I remember watching it when it first came out on sky over here and that was like millions of years ago!

I kner! Ooh that's way too old for me... I can't stand anything before season 3-4 now, LOL! I don't know why. Maybe because I saw them so many times, or that the animation is pretty horrid - the voices have changed as well. I like Homer as he is now - dumber

the animation is so shoddy, you can see all of the edges of the drawings and stuff.
I don't know what I prefer. i don't think I'm enough of a connoiseur to say really!

LOL I think maybe... season 4 onwards for me... but not the latest stuff, it's no where near as good.
But like I say, Family Guy has taken over for me, because I just find it so much more clever and funnier, hehe! Sort of "fresh", I guess.

*Sigh* I've given up on the new eps. Bottom of the barrel anyone? I find them too painful to watch. How is it possible for a cartoon character to be a bad actor lol. P.S. Love the background!...Is he giving the devils salute? lol.

I don't know actually I just loved the expression on his face, hehe! Yeah the new episodes are struggling with storylines, that's for sure...

The new episodes just get more and more insane, and its just not funny. I've always found surreal humour to be lazy, sometimes it can be funny, but in this case it's just not successful.
