I re-read my copy of Brokeback Mountain again this morning. When I first bought it, the movie hadn't been made, but now when I read it, I can envisage Heath and Jake as Ennis and Jack, even though they are both better looking than the tale describes them. My obsession has gone up to 11. I can't stop thinking about it it's just there all the time. There's no way the movie can ever live up to my expectations now I so shouldn't do this... get obsessed BEFORE seeing a movie! Mmm...new still... Jack grabbing Ennis's hand. Check out the soundtrack - there's a couple of Rufus Wainwright tracks. God...it's just so wistful and lovely... *sooks* www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000BEZQ18/qid=1134164955/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-5984550-8206204?v=glance&s=music

I wish I could see it with you I might have to look into gold class tickets so I can have a fortifying drink or two during it. I know I'm gonna cry...and it's not going to be pretty!

As much as I want to see it, I might wait a bit so there will be fewer people in the cinema to pint and laugh at me...

Horrid thought...if I go and just ONE person makes an ewwwww noise when they kiss... Maybe I'll have to see if it's on in an arthouse cinema in the city, where the ewwww factor is unlikely.

I am definately going to see this alone. I couldn't handle watching it with kev and him squirming throughout, although he does say he wants to see it...

It's The Straight Dude's Guide to Brokeback Mountain. (BTW the last paragraph, it's on page 2, is brilliant.) www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10342237/I have to wait to January 26, and then I have to find a theatre showing it

What a great article!! May have to show my bf that one!! But the point is I think I want to go there on my own and be filled with my own lustful thoughts without feeling guilty while I hold Kev's hand!!

It would be great to see it in an audience full of like-minded people - where there would be cheering, and open weeping without any fear of feeling like a sooky la-la.

It would be awful if we went to see it and it was full of horrid little chavs giggling at all the tender moments and going "yuck". I might pay a bit more and see it at an arty cinema too.

*hyperventilates* I just got my Club Dendy newsletter and they've got the rights for Brokeback Mountain! That means it's on at my fave cinema - the Kino in Melbourne!! And egregious, the Dendy in Brisbane will have it too!! Yay ARTHOUSE release! No bogans! No screaming kiddies! I just went and danced a happy dance around Mr Tweed and he said he'll drive us to Melb. to see it!
