Hah Jimeoin is classic "It's Jimeoin's cooking show!" That used to crack me up The format was changed for that, it wasn't the same show... And Ch. 9 didn't seem to give him the same sort of "freedom" with things that the ABC did. I was disappointed by that as well because it had a lot of potential, and I love the sort of humour Shaun deals in (more subtle and intelligent, sometimes bordering on very bizarre, rather than simple slapstick sort of stuff)...

I was racking my brain trying to remember the punchline to the Jimeoin potato in a pair of jocks gag...it's finally come to me - he was making 'wedgies'. I saw Shaun Micallef going to a Comfest show once, he's sooo good looking, seriously! I need to scan some Lano and Woodley pics! ;D

Hehe I posted some Lano & Woodley pics in the thread made for them... Shaun Micallef is quite good looking indeed... LOL! I wrote him a fan letter years ago and he replied to it, but I'm embarrassed by it because of something he misinterpreted in my original letter... I'll have to try and find it though, I don't know where it is

He sent you a letter, awww what a lovely man! LOL, I'm glad you've already got Lano and Woodley pics, I've realised the ones I wanted to scan are too big for my scanner! Who was your fave Shaun Micallef sketch comedy (was it Full Frontal, I get the FFs mixed up sometimes...) character. I loved Fabio (root me), but Milo Kerrigan used to have me on the floor in agony, crying tears of laughter

That's where the embarrassment in the letter came from. I commented that I loved the theme music of the show (that funky drum beat with the strings and brass, LOL!), and asked if there were plans to release a soundtrack (only jokingly of course) - the problem was I put it in the same paragraph as my praise for the courtroom "series" David McGahan "stars" in, and Shaun thought that was the theme music I was referring to Looking back it was rather amusing He wrote the reply on ABC letter head paper, LOL! Damn I need to find it

WAHOOO! ;D Australia is getting it's own Comic Relief! From Chortle.com: Australia is to have its own version of Comic Relief – 20 years after the charity was launched in the UK. The Seven Network is launching its own comedy-based fundraiser with a two-hour live telethon next month. It is being promoted with 'big red undies', and was one of the last causes Ronnie Barker, pictured, lent his name to. Money raised will be split equally between Australian charities and good causes elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region The programme will feature live comedy, recorded sketches an a collection of British Comic Relief skits never before seen in Australia. The British charity has raised almost £400 million in its history. For more details of the Australian campaign, visit www.comicrelief.org.au

From chortle.com:
"BBC Two has bought the rights to air the second series of suburban Australian sitcom Kath & Kim.
The eight-part series, the top-rated comedy down under, will air sometime next year.
The first series was broadcast in May, to warm critical reaction and audiences of around 1.5 million.
Co-creator Jane Turner, who plays Kath said: "We are thrilled to be back on BBC Two with Kath & Kim and we hope that audiences will enjoy the second series, that we can push their buttons and they will again take us to their collective British bosom."
The first series will be repeated on BBC Two this winter to help build an audience for season two.
Kath & Kim has been sold to the UK, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Finland, South Africa, Canada, Ireland and Fiji. "
Hey Cissa, have you watched Kath & Kim? ;D

DAAS KAPITAL! Bizarre, slightly self-indulgent, but good rough boyish fun with the All Stars and some of their regular cohorts. I'm starting to get into this a lot more now, heh! Must have been that Melbourne trip Anyway. Adam and I found a tape of The Big Gig in a video store here years ago, and he made a copy of it - it has a D*A*A*S sketch on it ;D Complete with them singing 'Heard It Through The Grapevine' << ooh my god it's good!
