Some of your faves? To me, you can't go past such classics as The Comedy Company, Fast Forward, and Full Frontal - in addition The Micallef Programme, and now Lano & Woodley Of course there is some crape out there, ie. Skithouse - sorry, Shithouse LOL! I've tried watching that and it's just not funny... And don't get me started on Rove... *pelts him with tomatoes* What do other Aussies enjoy from our own kind?

Ahh the classics! Yes indeedy! In addition to the ones you've mentioned , I quite like the GNW productions, like Good News Week when it was on, and The Glass House, and the World Series Debating. DAAS KAPITAL! Bizarre, slightly self-indulgent, but good rough boyish fun with the All Stars and some of their regular cohorts. I LOVE Spicks and Specks, it never fails to bring the funny! The De-Generation were just awesome, as was The Late Show. The most recent Australian comedy I watched was We Can Be Heroes. It was mockumentary, a genre I enjoy if done well. Chris Lilley did some brilliant character work in this show, but as someone on another forum said, 'this would be really good if it was funny'. I wouldn't be quite so harsh - while it wasn't guffaw-material, I still had a laugh and enjoyed it for the clever and spot-on observations of contemporary Australia. There's not much of a tradition of good Australian sitcoms. Mother and Son, and Kath and Kim, are arguably the jewels in the crown of Australian situation comedy. (Would Lano and Woodley be considered situation comedy? If yes, then they are DEFINITELY included!) There are some near-forgotten gems that I wish would be released on DVD for a new generation to discover. The Aunty Jack Show was utterly wild and funny and alternative! This was Australian comedy from the Rocky Horror generation, and combined sketch comedy, vaudeville, music and characters such as Aunty Jack, Thin Arthur, Flange Desire, Narrator Neville and Kev Cavanagh. I bet you're sorry you asked now!

LOL! No As for that We Can Be Heroes thing... I haven't seen much of it... but something about it says "Little Britain, but without 2 guys playing the parts..." LOL! Just how I see it though, I suppose

I saw it (Heroes) a bit like the British "People Like Us' - did you ever see that one? Funny! I wish someone would make a documentary on the history of Australian comedy (I've got a couple of books about it). I look at some of the old old stuff (ie Graham Kennedy on Blankety Blanks and IMT) and it still can hold it's own (oooh vicar!) today.

Lynda Gibson "Gibbo" I was fortunate enough to see her in a show at Comfest, the year before she died - she performed with Denise Scott and Judith Lucy. Brave, beautiful Lynda - her scalp ravaged and bald by chemo, was magnificent. She seemed so...well and so determined, I was shocked when I found out she had died. I really thought she was gonna be okay.

Spicks and Specks is my favourite thing on tv at the moment. It's brilliant, especially the eps with Ross Noble and Bill Bailey The Micallef Programme was classic, too... until he switched to channel nine, and then it got cancelled I also remember being a huge fan of Jimeon, though I recently rented the dvd and apparently the show isn't as funny as I thought it was! Although, where else can you get people putting clothes on potatoes, doing weird things with fish, or yanking people out of the studio audience at random and making them look stupid? ;D And of course, I could not forget Lano & Woodley. One of my favourite shows ever
