tee hee, tis most beautiful. mmm....
But yeah, I agree, I think people have seen a few things and thought they are similar, but I don't really think they can be compared because they are completely different

before i start, i must say that the new banner is rather stunning....what with the derren brown bit and miss piggy and all! And finally, a poll i actually can cast a vote on! LofG all the way! i love LB too, obviously, but it really is based on catchphrases. and although i don't subscribe to the complete rip off school of thought, there is one character which is too similar to be a co-incidence. *coughpaulineandmarjoriecough*. you cannot deny it! and although i had my little phase on LB (which, it has to be said, will probably resurface with Series 2 dvd and series 3) i am so totally and utterly, completely and madly in love with the League that i cannot describe it. and it has lasted much longer that any other phase...and it shows no signs of dwindling! gaaah, that must be one of my longest replies ever......damn you and your infernal polls!

Damn me and my infernal polls. I didn't put that option in this time But yes... I'm all obsessed with the League at the moment as well! And not just the series itself, but also the actors - I want to see other things they've been in, or read the books they've written, etc.... Tis madness

It was Little Britain that indirectly led me to LofG, so I will always be grateful for it in that respect, and I do like it very, very much, but I'm now in the 'prefer LofG' camp, well and truly. Reasons? Primarily, I think LofG has more depth to it - which while certainly not an essential element for comedy, it makes it more interesting for me to watch, and re-watch, ponder and discuss. Even though most of the LofG characters are larger than life and/or over the top, there is some dimension to them. Also, look at some of the monologues by characters - such as the cave guide, or Owen Fallowfield. Only a few minutes, and we know an awful lot about the character! Succinct and perfect. Other reasons I find LofG a more rewarding experience than LB: *Storylines. *The detail in scenes such that there are often things happening in the foreground or background while the main action is happening. *The quality of the filming. *The gorgeous score.

Yeah... It's all a matter of preferences over what you yourself enjoy, really. I mean, I've stated that I like both equally, and I do, because I like them for different reasons. I love tLoG because of the indepth storylines, the filming, the characters, etc... But I also love LB because of the quirkiness and more light-hearted feel it has. It's a different format of comedy, as we've established, so in a way it's hard to compare both series as if they were the same, because they aren't.

Good points, there kids. I think the main reason I love TLOG so much is the fact that the characters are utterly insane, yet strangely compelling, to the point of actually caring what happens to them. I love the way the league are a bit too clever for their own good

i know. and i love the way THEY know it too! reece alwayseems o make a point of piointing it out in commentaries and the like! and every single time i watch the League i see something new. i only noticed yesterday, for nstance, in the beginning of 1:4, the washing line with a load of leather bondage stuff on. and all the things on the boards in the school and the job centre. the attention to detail is astounding! i do like LB too *blows kiss to matt and david* love you too guys! ....but i doo love the league a little bit more. i mean, could LB ever make you cry? i bawl my eyes out at the end of series threee at pauline and mickeys wedding, with ross. every time. that is how much they make you feel part of it and make you care about the characters. and that is astonishing for a comedy! oh boys. I LOVE YOU!

ahhh I know. I am quite soppy, but I cry more at the end of series 3 then bloody Gone with the wind. How on earth do they do that? The attention to detail is just astounding, I'm constantly noticing new things, and I watch the dvds all the time!
haha yes, they are a wee bit big headed, but they get away with it, because they sort of deserve to be I suppose.
I luff you gents!

I agree too, LB makes me laugh out loud and there are some moments of pure wondeful comedy and of course i have a soft spot for both matt and david! BUT as you've all said, LoG makes you care about the characters, they build them up and even the most terrible characters have a sadder side. I cry when Edward goes to hell while tubbs goes to swansea, because i dont want him to be alone, even if he was so bad! *sniff* and i agree, sometimes the league are a bit big headed, but i guess they are all control freaks and like to have everything done their way...ehehehe PS is so cute!!!! Sleepy Steve
