Ok, this is a thread for people to talk about the GW special if they've seen it and want to discuss what happened, etc...

Crap. Mega crap. I really hate typing that, but watching the special was soul destroying. I've said it a thousand times already, but I need to vent!!
Guy: They turned a fantastic character into a 2 dimensional sexy mess. The thing is, it was so obvious what the writers were doing - they were making the audience know who Caro should really go for. What a load of balls. It would have been far interesting if it was more of a fight between Mac and Guy.
Too much Mark Heap (which I never thought possible). He's much funnier in small doses, I was rather bored by the end, although I loved the walking into the sunset and 'Hello'.
Too surreal - they were doing this a lot in series 2, but they took it way too far. See series 1 for the right balance.
They actually left Mac to die!!! How dare they. Bloody bastards.
Never really liked the office girls, but they were unnecessary and incredibly boring and unfunny.

Yeah I agree with all of that, heh! It was just... I dunno. Yeah, surreal is the right word. It was just silly.
I kept hoping that there'd be an epilogue at the end of Mac in his coma - that he has dreamt all of the weird shit, LOL! (ala Dallas).

hehe Yeah - that would have been great, and would explain a lot of the freaky shit in series 2. Apparently on the dvd theres an extended ending, and from what I've heard, it's meant to be much better and includes a sort of cliffhanger (not literally this time). I think I will buy the dvd, but probably not for a while - not until I start to forgive them.

yeah, I've just bought the DVD (haven't watched it yet!) as I am intrigued by the alternative ending. Also want to see what they say on the commentary about the weird ending scene...
However, I didn't not like it. It wasn't as funny or S1 or S2 but it had the emotional Mac/Caro stuff and being a hopeless romantic I liked it. But what on earth did they do to Guy? *cries* He was a shadow of his former self. Sigh.
Still, at least it was a Mac/Caro ending (Sorry Judee!) but I cannot believe they didn't resolve the Mac dying issue - my promise to hunt them down and kill them if they didn't save him still stands!

It needed more Mac/Guy banter - Guy had resorted to mainly being mean rather than funny. And I want more Sue! There was barely any of her. She should have done more at the Mac/Caro wedding, I thought she would jump in/jump on him/try and stop it, but no! Nothing. The editors are mad, though. I've just watched the deleted scenes and they cut out some of the bestest bits! Maaaaaaaaad!
Oh dear, now it sounds like I hate it. I don't! Just...thought it could have been better.

Damn, I'm going to have to buy the dvd now. I agree with you completely (except the Caromac ending of course) but I agree everything was just handled really badly.

Would be interesting to see what we came up with... I for one would have much more of the series 1 madness/randomness/stupidity. Hehe. They missed out an ace scene with Guy in a cake shop, it was just like it used to be.
*sigh*
you know, if we ran the world form this very forum, we'd do a really GOOD job. hehe.
