the plan worked beautifully.... she is utterly obbsessed. we watched all three series and the xmas special and the live one and she was spellbound throughout th whole thing. she actually cried at the end of series three at the wedding and those bits. (as did i ) she went home ater making me promise to try and book tickets to see them live.... and best of all......she is besotted with Legz Akimbo. hehehehehehehehe.

Hopefully not, LOL! Maybe I can have her watch Catterick as well... "Look, there's Matt Lucas - the dude from Little Britain!" "And ooh look, that guy playing the psycho with the gun - do you recognise him at all.....?" *wink wink nudge nudge* LOL!

Yeah, I was quite surprised to find that out, LOL! My b/f got a phone message from her ages ago saying "OMG there's someone on this bus who looks like Anne" And that's how we discovered her liking of LB So ... we're not far off. Oh and she liked Shaun of the Dead as well, so that's another starting point I wonder what she'd think of Catterick though... My b/f and I are much more used to that kind of humour because of LoG, Vic & Bob, LB, etc... I'm not sure she'd be as welcoming...

Freaky, LOL! I dunno what it is about the British style of humour... You guys can just pull it off so well I think UK comedies show characters in a more relatable sense, in that they aren't perfect at all (a lot of US shows have all these fantastic looking "fake" people, and they all live in these perfect houses...) I dunno... LOL! Helpful I be... I just really love UK comedies Particularly shows liked Spaced, or Fun at the Funeral Parlour, because they use a lot of Pop Culture that I myself either grew up with, or enjoy myself, so I relate to the writers/actors who come up with the ideas as well. God, even Big Train. I was listening to the commentary for Series 1, and the writers were saying how they had inspiration from Saturday Night Live, but preferred the time when people like Mike Myers, Phil Hartman, David Spade etc... were on it - and that's when I really loved the show as well because I love(d) those actors... So yeah, there ya go LOL!

oh i see. hmmm, i suppose i don't really appreciate it as much cos i am surrounded by it....i don't know, but i find it hilarious!
the thing i don't ike about american comedy (some) is that it is just silly and slapstick. i mean, theres no real thought gone into it, it is just these *perfect people in perfect houses* that you said. i think UK comdy tends to be wittier if you know what i mean, not as silly! i dunno.....or something! the exception being Desperate Housewives. did you see that?

Ooh I never really got into that show I watched the first episode and thought "Um... no... Might stick with the UK coolness methinks" Shows like "Friends" annoyed me, that whole "Sweety sweety!" falseness, ugh. The only character who didn't annoy me was Joey

Ooh yes! Vicar of Dibley is one of my faves I love Dawn French, she's great. And I'm not as huge a fan of Fawlty Towers or Black Adder, but I like what I've seen. My favourite scene in FT has to be when Basil attacks his car, LOL! "Start you vicious bastard! Right! I'm going to give you a damn good thrashing!" And of course Rowan Atkinson great, Black Adder is cool Anyways. I think we need another Oh Gawd moment Blond Reece... Ooh my... And I don't usually like blond guys, LOL!

no me neither, tis usually dark and dangerous all the way! but i am prepared to make an exception i love that bit in fawlty towers - i have the box set and it has a little statue of him with that branch attacking the car in it! but i just love the bit in the psychiatrist (i think) where he crouches down and hops round. i don't know why, i just do'! and vicar of dibley is a classic, obciously. isn'y owen in the new HP film? hmmm, did you ever see the Flashheart eps in Blackadder? they are by far the funniest!

No... I haven't seen much of Black Adder unfortunately. Must do, though... Tis very funny. I just remember the Macbeth episode, when he keeps saying it and those actors do that little dance/rhyme thing, LOL! As am I
