I just watched the episode "Love and Monsters" and I can sense there won't be much love for it, but hell, I thought it was great fun. It is told from the point of view of a a guy who is obsessed with the Doctor. Onlne, he has met other Doctor existence buffs and together they form a little social club and become best friends. (Very Scooby Gang!) They have a mutual interest in the existence of the Doctor, home cooking and ELO. The entire episode revolves around them, so I can see that this will peeve people no end. Won't spoil, but will say it scored high on Mr Tweeds Weird Shit-O-Meter Heads up for Harry Potter, Trainspotting and/or Hamish Macbeth fans - Shirley Henderson has a role in this episode.

I actually thought this was one of the better episodes I've seen. I really enjoyed it! I thought the main guy, Elton, was fab and he really drew me into the story. Peter Kaye was excellently evil as well! I wonder if I enjoyed this one more becuase the Doctor wasn't in it very much.

I actually thought this was one of the better episodes I've seen. I really enjoyed it! ;D I thought I might be the only one!! Wasn't he!! Think he could be a candidate for new companion? Or maybe he could get a job in Torchwood? Oh god, RTD read my mind about Elton's lovelife with Ursula! He reminded me of Fat Bastard at the end! OOH !! I think these kind of eps (new character's point of view) are good for shows - adds to the complexity. I always loved it when it happened in The X-Files.

Wasn't he!! Think he could be a candidate for new companion? Or maybe he could get a job in Torchwood? Excellent plan! Let's start the petition now! I think to me it just felt like a different show. It was fun and silly and not like Dr Who at all really. Reminded me of when I used to watch The Twilight Zone and "The Outer Limits" and crap like that!

Oh please let this be true! I just thought about how much this will piss the purists off if it is true and not merely delicious speculation. By the sounds of it though (if it is true), it will be ambiguous enough to let people read into it whatever pleases them most. ;D

I was talking to someone on Empire yesterday about the new companion and they thought that a male companion would be a bad idea. WHY???

Lack of balance? Too much testosterone?
The green house impact caused by the simultaneous and spontaneous combustion of a thousand Dr Who slash fans worldwide?
