I was having a conversation with John about the appeal of Bernard the other day. Basically, I think people like Bernard, despite his flaws, because they want to be Bernard. I know if there were no consequences I would drink, smoke and be just as unpleasant to people. But Unfortunately, we live in the real world, and I don't really want to have to deal with lung cancer, liver disease or the multiple law-suits that people would inevitably file against me. ...during the same conversation, John also told me that he found Fran sexy!  |

Well said! It's a lovely fantasy though, to be like Bernard, but without the Real Life consequences. I'd love just one day in which I could say whatever I think to rude clients. (I wouldn't be like Bernard and be rude to even the nice clients! ) See, I reckon stress isn't caused by the actual rudeness of people - it's caused by not being able to retaliate in a way that would release the stress, and be just plain old satisfying to boot! ;D Yay for unconventionally sexy women! ;D |

I agree!!! Bernard is unhappy and sullen and moody, but he doesn't care. He doesn't care what he looks like, what he says what people think because he sees the world as well pretty shit and therefore why try to make it better....
but i agree...i would love to be so haphazard with everything the way he is...and just NOT care. lol

Sorry people, gotta disagree. I loved the show but Bernard Black was a b**t**d of a character. Not nice at all, lol...and Fran wasn't much better either.
I vote Manny.

I certainly would not. To be honest more than 30 mins of Manny a day would probably drive a sane person to drink. I'd like to change my vote to Fran please ;D |
