Ha, I love this movie. It's probably one of Tim Burton's best. Gotta love Michael Keaton.... Gotta love the cartoon spinoff.... Gotta love the dinner scene when they all dance.... "It's showtime!!!!!!!!!"

Quotes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adam: What are your qualifications? Betelgeuse: Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?
Delia: I will live with you in this hellhole, but I must express myself. If you don't let me gut out this house and make it my own, I will go insane and I will take you with me.
Betelgeuse: I'm the ghost with the most, babe. (Ha, that one was said in the cartoon show a lot.)
Otho: What happened to the people who lived here? Delia: Oh, they died. Hey, look, an indoor outhouse.
Juno: [to the football players] I am not your coach! He survived!
Betelgeuse: These aren't my rules. Come to think of it, I don't have any rules.

Ooh hello! ;D Yay I love Beetlejuice, in particular the cartoon version - that's what got me into it, really Michael Keaton's a weird one - a lot of people I know don't like him, but I dunno... he was great in this

Lol, what a coincidence I started a thread about the cartoon. Yeah, I don't think anyone else could have pulled off that character as well as he did.

Nah... I love watching it now, with it's dodgy effects I imagine it would be totally f*cked up if they did it now, the special effects would make it look real

That's what made it so cool. It was one of the first shows to start using CGI before it was popular. Crude CGI, but CGI nontheless. Yeah, can you imagine it? They would make BJ look identical to Keaton. (Not that it wouldn't be cool... ) Ooh, what if BJ was an anime? That would be freaky! It would be so much darker and sexual than the real show.

Ooh that'd be too weird.... A "new CGI" version would be so freaky, but I like the original stuff because it looks so dodgy now than what it probably did back then Sort of that "stop animation" style, hehehe...

Tell me about it. I would watch it, but I don't know about the rest of the world. Yep. Well back then it was new and inventive. Amazing how our perspectives change...

Totally I blame all those blockbusters they keep thrashing out... And this obsession with making CGI movies that look almost real - jeeeeez! We almost won't be needing proper actors soon

Lol. And I bet they would make BJ into a bishie. Exactly! I'm sick of seeing CGI. That's what I love about classic Burton movies. They used claymation, but they still looked pretty kickass.

Yeah, the classicness of it all it what makes it cool This CGI thing is getting a little out of hand - it seems excellent special effects are more important than decent plots... LOL!

Yeah, the classicness of it all it what makes it cool This CGI thing is getting a little out of hand - it seems excellent special effects are more important than decent plots... LOL! Exactly! The movie version of Aeon Flux was just a bunch of special effects and action sequences. They didn't even bother explaining the plot and the only people who understood that movie were people who had watched the cartoon. Ooh, look at me getting off topic.

that's fine, you should see some of the other threads But yeah... Sometimes only people who know about the "original" will understand the updated version...
