We were talking about this movie last night in the pub - all my male friends want to go and watch it! I was so surprised! maybe it's becuase we all did film studies that they are more open minded about stuff like this and they love Ang Lee too. My boyf shocked me though - he said that he might find it quite erotic. Imagine how my ears pricked up to hear that!!

Maybe he knows what the benefits would be to him saying that? It's so heartening to read that guys are keen to see it, and that perhaps minds are being broadened.

I reckon they are more broadminded, at least in my age group anyway.
It'll be interesting to see how many guys there are in the cinema when i go to watch it.

I hope, but it's an unlikely hope, that the minds that need broadening will... y'know? The people in places where boys like Matthew Sheppard were beaten up and hung up like a scarecrow and left to die... Realistically, I don't think it's gonna happen in my lifetime though. But hey, if this movie makes money and isn't just shoved to little indi film status, then that is a huge step in the right direction.

It's terrible isn't it? We get a lot of homophobic attacks and murders over here too. But I don't understand the problem with it myself. One of my best friends is gay, and my stepbrother is gay and one of my friends at school was a lesbian. I've never had a problem with it at all. I find it so hard that in today's day and age that people can be so biggoted.

I think we're lucky enough to be in parts of our respective countries where people in general are fairly liberal and open minded.
(That said, when I saw In and Out at the local cinema, people were euwwing and walking out...)
I have been to the very fringes of the Bible belt in the US and some of the very public attitudes of the people there shocked me greatly.
