I love the Opticians sketch ;D Meanwhile, on a lame sort of note, I based one of my fic characters on Ronnie Corbett It cracks me up all the time to write with him because he's something more of a serious character, but imagining Mr Corbett portraying him is just way too amusing to me ;D

Three Christmases ago on Christmas Day, there was a whole day's worth of The Two Ronnies sketches programming on one of the TV channels over here (ITV3) ^^

I am a huge Two Ronnies an. The DVDs are worth the prices (and they are not enpensive - buy from UK, cheapest around!). The Two Ronnies are TV comedy bests as they were there at the right time and place. The book released by Ronnie Corbett a few years ago is a really good read and provides a great behind the scenes look at the show. No scandels or private hidden secrets, just good guys making good comedy. My fav sketch is the Opticians Sketch - "You're reading the furniture now!" - classic. I uploaded that as the full sketch on You Tube recently so check it out. If anyone is planning to buy the DVDs then I must insist you try and track down "The Two Ronnies in Australia". It has been released in Australia by Umbrella Ent, but could be bought via ebay or the likes. The Australia show was produced during one of their off periods and filmed for Channel 9. They don't make shows like this anymore. BTW, if you are watching the first series and see the running sketch of "Hampton Wick", look out for the super cute Madeline Smith and her accidental "breast" appearance
