Gawd, talk about a blast from the past! I remember the Su Pollard character, cos she was so out there, but that's about it! Holiday camps and chalets and lovely leg competitions...it's a British thing! Must ask T-Bird about it! I've been meaning to start a thread called Cultural Exchange, so I might do that now!

Ooh that's a good idea We sort of became interested by it after seeing an episode of Fun at the Funeral Parlour where Arwell dresses up like her (yellow blazer, white skirt, black hair) And he looks scarily like her as well He's trying to distract some rival funeral directors and get them to leave town, LOL! It's very bizarre, but when he goes up to them he says: "Hi de hi campers, are you thinking naughty thoughts?" Hilarious stuff

Hi De Hi is a British Institution!! Wasn't one of my favourite comedy shows of way back when, but it still rises a giggle out of me every now and again when i do watch it!

I used to watch this show when I was a kid. Still do, as I ordered the two releases from the UK (some cuts, very obvious ones, no extras, as usual). It's nice to walk down memory lane again. Hi-di-Hi campers! That Ruth Madoc is very funny as Galdys Pew. Has anyone seen Oh, Doctor Beeching!? the series set in a country train station in 1963 around the time Beeching was closing them down? That sitcom had a lot of Hi-di-Hi regs like Paul Shane, Jeffery Holland, Su Pollard etc. It screened on Channel 7 here in Aust late in the evenings. Series 1 in 1997 and Series 2 in early 1999. I have got series one on DVD, it's fantastic. Can't wait for series two, it's available, but my order at sendit.com is taking forever....

Well hello there! I'll try and get Alex Lowe dressed up like her as well while I'm at it, eh? Hopefully the b/f still has those dodgy DVD transfers of FATFP
